Astra Group's automotive sales slowed throughout the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. This is in line with the continued sluggish national automotive sales due to the economic downturn and declining purchasing power. According to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), through the first half of 2025, the Astra Group sold 201,633 cars. This figure is more than half of national automotive sales for the first half of 2025. Astra's Chief of Corporate Affairs, Boy Kelana Soebroto, explained that economic dynamics contributed to the decline in automotive sales. Astra's sales through June 2025 still accounted for 54% of total national automotive sales. However, compared to sales in the first half of 2024, Astra's sales decreased by 12.9%, as Astra sold 231,734 cars in the same period. Throughout the first half of 2025, sales in June were recorded at 29,365 units, a 22.58% decrease compared to 43,900 units in the same period in 2024. In June, sales of the Toyota and Lexus brands were reduced from 25,652 units to 18,038 units. The Daihatsu brand also saw its sales reduced from 14,967 units to 9,356 units. "Amidst economic challenges affecting market dynamics and consumer purchasing power, Astra remains hopeful that national automotive sales will recover in the second half of 2025," said Boy Kelana.
