The automotive market in the electric hatchback segment will be increasingly crowded with the presence of the latest vehicle from GAC Aion, namely the Aion UT which will officially hit the road at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). In other words, this vehicle will challenge opponents who already exist in the EV hatchback market such as BYD Dolphin, GWM Ora to Wuling Cloud and also Neta V II. Before officially launching in the domestic market, Aion Indonesia gave the ANTARA editorial team the opportunity to take a closer look at this vehicle whose price is currently unknown. In Indonesia, this vehicle will be available in two variants, namely Standard and Premium. GAC AION Indonesia Product Expert Iqbal Taufiqurrahman said that there are several differences between the two. "The difference, the first is definitely the different battery, 60 kWh (Premium) and 44 kWh (Standard). Then the second is the electric motor is also different, from the Premium it is 150 kW and the Standard 100 kW," said Iqbal Taufiqurrahman to ANTARA, Monday. Another difference that will also be presented between Standard and Premium is the use of rims on both. For Standard will use a 16-inch ring and Premium will use a 17-inch ring. On this occasion, ANTARA was given the opportunity to see the UT vehicle closer with the Premium variant. When viewed, this vehicle comes with a design that combines classic and modern sides. The Aion UT comes with dimensions of 4270x1850x1575 with a wheelbase reaching 2750. With the dimensions presented, this vehicle is claimed to be able to overcome various road conditions in Indonesia. He also said that the presence of this vehicle is also to answer the desires of domestic consumers who have switched to electric vehicles. "Now the trend is that people are switching from ICE to EV. Therefore, we, Aion Indonesia, read that as a concern that we need to answer and in the end we brought the Aion UT to Indonesia with the hope of being able to answer the concerns of the community," he said. Not only that, this vehicle is also reported to have a fairly affordable price so that the presence of this car will also answer the stigma that electric vehicles that have an expensive price will be erased with the presence of UT in Indonesia. "So there is no need to think that electric cars must be expensive. We want to eliminate those negative stigmas," he said. This premium variant is equipped with a 150 kw electric motor and a battery capacity of 60 kWh which already uses the LFP Magazine Battery 2.0.
