Chinese car manufacturer BYD has reportedly been blacklisted by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi). This is related to the registration process and updating of data for Private Electronic System Organizers (PSE Privat), after previously being a company that received a warning letter. Head of Public and Government Relations of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Luther Panjaitan, explained that regarding the PSE Private status of the BYD website which is currently the concern of Kemkomdigi, the BYD Indonesia legal team is currently resolving it. "We can inform you that the BYD Indonesia legal team is handling this matter and completing the necessary administrative requirements," said Luther, quoted from Antara, Tuesday (3/6/2025). "The website is being sorted out by our legal team, more towards administrative requirements," said Luther. Previously, Kemkomdigi had officially issued a warning letter to 36 PSE Private entities, one of which was BYD Indonesia. The companies that are warned have not registered and updated their latest data. If this is not responded to, the Ministry of Communication and Information asserts that it will impose administrative sanctions by blocking services. The warning was given in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 5 of 2020 concerning Private PSE. This regulation must be followed by both domestic and foreign companies. Obligation to Register and Update Data All Private PSEs, both domestic and foreign, are required to register and update their registration data in order to maintain data accuracy and reliability. This is an important step to strengthen the governance of the electronic system in the country. As part of active supervision efforts, the Ministry of Communication and Information has submitted official notifications to 23 Private PSEs that have been identified as not having fulfilled their registration obligations even though they have been operating and targeting the Indonesian market, and to 13 (thirteen) Private PSEs that have not updated their registration information. The Ministry of Communication and Information urges all Private PSEs that are included in the mandatory registration category to immediately carry out the registration process through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. Meanwhile, for PSEs that have been registered, it is very important to ensure that their registration data is always updated and accurate if there are changes in services, business entities, or other information.
