GAC Aion Ready To Produce Cars In Indonesia This Month!

In fact, GAC Aion has been present for several months in Indonesia, especially since they have sold four electric cars. However, it turns out that car production has not started because they still have to make a number of preparations for the assembly site. After a long time, they are ready to start their production activities this month, so that they can reduce imports of CBU models. 

GAC Aion Ready to Assemble Cars in Indonesia

Usually, car manufacturers who are new here immediately assemble their cars locally, but not all of them can do it. Like GAC Aion which has been present for several months, but its factory is not ready to assemble its electric cars. Even though they have sold a number of their flagship cars, from the Y Plus to the latest in the form of the Aion V. 

They admitted that there are a number of other preparations that must be completed, and if there are no other problems they can start production this month. Everything takes quite a long time because the factory does not use existing assembly facilities, but a new factory. This is what makes them need more time to prepare, even though the addition of production capacity will be done gradually. 

Models to be Assembled 

Regarding production capacity, the factory can assemble 50 thousand units of cars per year, and they can increase it if the demand is high enough in the market. They also ensure that their electric cars that have been assembled locally will have up to 40 percent domestic components. The Aion V is said to be prioritized first because the demand in the market is quite high, and other models will follow. 

So far, the reception of the GAC Aion car has been quite good in Indonesia, and they will bring in more of their superior models to be sold here.
