Moeldoko Reveals Brand Name That Wants To Make A National Car

Moeldoko, General Chairperson of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), revealed that one of the parties said to be concocting the manufacture of a national car (mobnas) is Polytron. 

Moeldoko said that there are already a number of foreign manufacturers that have the potential to become partners in the development of the national car. He said that business opportunities could be various things such as creating new brands or others. 

"Large manufacturers from abroad, especially from China, come here in collaboration with local partners to create new brands, it could be new brands, it could also be their brands that are there or it could also be collaboration between brands," said Moeldoko, Wednesday (19/3), reported by Antara. 

"Among them Polytron, will also later create other brands," he said again. 

So far, the definition of the intended national car is still unclear, whether it is like Timor in the 1990-2000s or using another scheme recognized by the government. 

Moeldoko explained that companies that want to become national car partners will be supported by the government in the form of easy access to investment, especially electric cars. 

"The government also provides access and convenience, so in my opinion there are relatively no obstacles to investment in Indonesia in the EV sector. Because the policy is supportive, then the market is very large, our conditions are also very stable, this is very supportive of investment," he explained.
