The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) noted that the sales performance of battery electric vehicles (BEV) in the national market increased sharply in February 2025. During this period, 5,766 BEV units were distributed, more than doubling compared to the previous month, which was 165.03 percent, which was only recorded at 2,175 units in January 2025. The best-selling electric car model in Indonesia was led by the BYD M6 with 1,093 units sold, followed by the Denza D9 which recorded sales of 912 units.

Chery J6 was in third place with 634 units, while Wuling Air EV and Wuling Cloud EV followed with 546 and 460 units sold, respectively.

Sales of other electric cars also showed significant figures, such as the MG 4 EV with 189 units and the Chery Omoda E5 which sold 187 units. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which had dominated the segment at the beginning of the national BEV growth period, is now in 9th position with sales of 109 units.

Eco-friendly vehicle products from the Indomobil Group, such as the Aion Y Plus and Hyptec HT, also contributed to the increase in sales with sales figures of 80 and 79 units respectively. Several luxury electric cars have also enlivened the market although their contribution is still relatively low, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQE and Toyota bZ4x which each sold 4 units.

Then there are also the Mercedes-Benz EQE, BMW i4, to the Volvo EX30 and Kia EV 6 and Kia EV 9.
