Affected By Budget Efficiency, These Are The Strategies Of Automotive Industry Players

The budget efficiency policy issued by the government has an impact on various sectors. No exception, the automotive industry experienced a sales contraction after the budget savings policy. "It is undeniable that in January and February, we in the automotive industry also experienced a contraction. So the budget tightening from the government has quite a domino effect," said Marketing Division Head of Nasmoco Group, Herybertus Budi on the sidelines of the Nasmoco Bazaar Festival Mudik Aman & Nyaman Exhibition at Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta, Tuesday (11/3/2025).  

Decrease in sales 

 Budi explained that sales conditions during January and February were quite eroded. He gave an illustration that in January - February 2024 for the Central Java and DIY regions, they could sell 3 thousand units, in the same period in 2025 it decreased to around 2,500 units. Budi said that the decline in sales was also felt by a number of other parties engaged in the automotive sector. "Other friends are the same. The market is affected by the policy. It is undeniable that the economic conditions at the beginning of this year were quite difficult," said Budi.  

2. Strategies implemented 

Budi explained that the Nasmoco Bazaar Festival Mudik Aman & Nyaman Exhibition agenda at Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta until Sunday (16/3/2025) was a strategy to be able to recover. Moreover, the Ramadan moment or approaching Eid is usually the peak of sales. "That's why this is part of us Toyota holding more exhibitions. There were five cars exhibited on the occasion, namely the All New Hilux Rangga which was modified into Rangga Moko (shop car) and the Avanza which is equipped with a Roof Box. Targeting the youth segment, Nasmoco also presents the Agya Stylix, Yaris Cross HEV and the All New Zenix HEV family dream car.  

3. Various promos are presented 

Marketing Planning & Customer Relation Dept Head Nasmoco Group, Riski Permana added, in addition to being held in Yogyakarta, through the Safe & Comfortable Homecoming Bazaar Festival, Nasmoco is also present closer to customers by holding similar exhibitions in all malls in big cities throughout Central Java and Yogyakarta. Customers who make purchases in March will get various benefits, including a free roof box (including cross bar) worth IDR 6 million - IDR 8 million for purchases of Avanza, Rush and Fortuner. There is also a Homecoming Bonus of up to IDR 5 million, and special benefits for loyal customers or Toyota loyalists get an additional discount of IDR 3 million and an additional IDR 1 million specifically for SPK during the Bazaar Festival at Pakuwon Mall Yogyakarta. In addition, there are free installments during the month of Ramadan, free all-risk insurance, body and paint maintenance for two years, free service, oil and parts up to 60 thousand Kkm and 0 percent interest.
