Chinese automotive manufacturer Geely, re-entering the Indonesian market through PT Geely Auto Indonesia, promises new developments after approximately nine years of absence. During a meeting in Jakarta on Sunday, Geely Auto Indonesia's Brand Director, Yusuf Anshori, stated that the current presence of Geely is directly under the headquarters. Prior to exiting the Indonesian market in 2016, Geely had entered through a distributor. "In terms of technology, Geely today is indeed more prepared, and its development has been quite significant compared to the past," Yusuf remarked. The company continues to innovate and create cutting-edge technology for the vehicles they launch globally, including in Indonesia. Geely also expressed confidence in competing with various Chinese brands entering Indonesia, attributing this to their research and technology capabilities. Yusuf noted that they develop their own technology for their vehicles. "We have four research and development centers worldwide, as well as four design centers globally. Therefore, Geely's current strength is more prepared in terms of ecosystem," Yusuf explained. At present, Geely Auto Indonesia has launched only one model, the electric vehicle Geely EX5. The company does not rule out the possibility of introducing additional models that possess competitive pricing and technology. "The Geely ecosystem is vast, and the range of models available is extensive; it ultimately depends on market demand," Yusuf concluded.
