Wednesday, 19 Feb 2025

The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 further underscores the dominance of Chinese automotive products in the Indonesian market. With an increasing number of brands from the Bamboo Curtain participating, IIMS 2025 offers a wider array of both electrified and conventional vehicles for local consumers.

This year, the number of exhibiting brands has seen a significant rise compared to the previous year. "Last year, there were only 23 brands; this year, we have 31. There is a substantial increase, particularly from manufacturers in China, prompting us to open three halls. This year, we are utilizing Hall B, where more than 10 brands are showcasing their offerings," stated Rudi MF, Project Manager of IIMS 2025, during an interview at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

In the four-wheeled vehicle sector, out of the total 31 participating brands, IIMS 2025 features several Chinese brands, including BAIC, BYD, Chery, Denza, DFSK, GAC AION, Geely, GWM, Honri, Jaecoo, Jetour, Neta, Seres, and Wuling. These brands are increasingly proactive in promoting electric and hybrid vehicles as environmentally friendly transportation solutions for the future.

Not only in the four-wheeled segment, but the two-wheeled vehicle sector is also populated by Chinese brands ready to compete with Japanese and European manufacturers. Among the 25 participating brands, notable names from China include Keeway, Keeway EV, QJ MOTOR, and Yadea.

From Europe, the four-wheeled segment features BMW-MINI and Volkswagen (VW) from Germany, showcasing their latest innovations. Additionally, the French manufacturer Citroen is intensifying its efforts to expand its presence in the Indonesian market. From East Asia, Japan continues to dominate with the participation of Daihatsu, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, and Toyota. Meanwhile, from South Korea, Hyundai and KIA are also prepared to present their latest technologies.
