Toyota's Car Exports Surpass Those Of Daihatsu And Mitsubishi In 2024, According To The Data

A number of automotive manufacturers in Indonesia are competing to achieve impressive export performance throughout 2024. Notably, Toyota's export figures have surpassed those of Daihatsu and Mitsubishi. According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) for the period of January to December 2024, Indonesia has exported a total of 472,194 vehicles to various countries. However, this figure represents a decline of 6.5% year-on-year compared to the same period in 2023, which recorded 505,134 units.  

When analyzed by brand, Toyota emerged as the leading exporter, with 166,531 units exported over the 12 months of 2024. This marks a 21% increase year-on-year from the 137,661 units exported in the same period of 2023. Following Toyota, Daihatsu secured the second position with an export total of 110,334 units, while Mitsubishi Motors ranked third with 87,896 units. Additionally, the South Korean manufacturer, PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI), exported 62,443 units during January to December 2024, with Suzuki coming in fifth at 19,141 units. 

Meanwhile, Honda reported an export performance of 15,757 units, followed by Isuzu with 8,070 units. The list of the largest exporters in Indonesia for 2024 also includes Wuling with 1,101 units, Hino with 765 units, and DFSK with 155 units. Furthermore, it is worth noting that one of Hyundai's flagship models for export is the Hyundai Creta, including the newly launched New Creta N Line, which has recently commenced mass production at the PT Hyundai Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) facility in Cikarang, West Java.
