Consumers in Indonesia place a high value on design and vehicle performance when selecting an electric motorbike, as revealed by a survey carried out by ALVA, an electric motorbike manufacturer, over the past three years. "Styling is a top priority for Indonesians. It holds significant importance as Indonesians are visually inclined," stated Rahmat Septriwan, the Chief Operating Officer of ALVA, during a press conference in South Jakarta on Tuesday. He mentioned that the design of electric motorbikes produced by manufacturers in Japan and Italy is exceptionally appealing to consumers in Indonesia. In addition to design, consumers of electric motorbikes in Indonesia also consider the performance of the vehicle. "Performance is intriguing because it differs from that of a car. It is not as clearly defined when it comes to motorbikes," Rahmat explained. "While a car's performance is often measured by factors like 0-100 (km/h) or horsepower, Indonesian consumers do not prefer that for motorbikes. Ultimately, we have translated it into the concept of top speed," he further elaborated. ALVA's Chief Marketing Officer, Putu Yudha, mentioned that digital technology features on electric motorbikes, such as smart settings through apps, are highly favored by consumers in Indonesia. "We have developed numerous features, and some are more popular than others," he stated. Putu highlighted that the digital features most frequently utilized by ALVA electric motorbike users in Indonesia are the nearby user tracking feature and the usage statistics feature. He explained that the interest in the nearby user tracking feature is influenced by the Indonesian culture of socializing and communicating. Regarding the usage statistics feature, Putu mentioned that users often utilize it to showcase their electric motorbike riding experiences on social media. "Some users utilize it for display purposes, you could say. They can instantly share their experiences on Instagram stories or TikTok, showcasing their achievements like 'I've traveled this distance' or 'I can travel one kilometer with just one percent battery power'," Putu added.
