Key Points Of Prabowo, Jokowi, And Kaesang's Speeches At The PSI Congress

Thursday, 24 Jul 2025

President Prabowo Subianto attended the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress on July 20, 2025. Prabowo admitted to having an emotional connection with the PSI. He said the PSI shares similarities with the Indonesian Socialist Party led by Sutan Sjahrir.

"My father was once the chairman of the Indonesian Socialist Party. The old version of the PSI, the Indonesian Socialist Party, now has a successor, the Indonesian Solidarity Party," said the former defense minister.

PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also spoke at the PSI Congress in Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Kaesang delivered a speech after being re-elected as chairman.

Kaesang won the PSI chairmanship election via e-voting. The incumbent received 65.28 percent of the vote. Ronald Aristone Sinaga came in second with 22.23 percent, and Agus Mulyono Herlambang with 12.49 percent.

Kaesang's victory announcement was delivered before more than a thousand PSI cadres from across Indonesia who attended the first day of the PSI Congress at Graha Saba Buana Solo, Central Java, on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2025, at approximately 3:00 PM WIB.

Meanwhile, Jokowi attended the national message session at the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress at Graha Saba Buana Solo, Central Java, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

So, what did Prabowo, Jokowi, and Kaesang convey at the PSI Congress?

Points of Prabowo's Speech

1. Refuting the Dark Indonesia

Prabowo denied the pessimistic narrative of a dark Indonesia that had been circulating for some time. He stated that the national development process is currently on the right track. He stated that investment achievements have exceeded expectations, and poverty and unemployment rates have decreased. The hashtag "dark Indonesia" itself was used by netizens to highlight various problems during the first 100 days of the Prabowo-Gibran administration. Prabowo accused corruptors of paying the masses for demonstrations titled "Dark Indonesia" and "Just Run Away First." "They want Indonesia to always be chaotic, Indonesia to always be poor," said President Soeharto's former son-in-law.

2. Greedynomics

Prabowo's concern is the overly greedy management of state assets, which he calls "greedynomics." The concept of greedynomics is greedy behavior that no longer respects morals, the law, or the interests of the nation.

According to him, many groups are not pro-people, threatening the constitution. Prabowo believes that Indonesia has extraordinary resources, but many still act like "thieves." He said many are not deterred despite repeated warnings. "This greedy economics is over; it's not in books, it's not in economics universities like this. This is the science of greed," he said.
