Muzani: Institutions Working Alone Will Not Accelerate National Programs

Tuesday, 15 Jul 2025

The Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, emphasized the importance of synergy between state institutions and government programs, as state institutions operating independently will not accelerate the achievement of national goals, which are the program of the Indonesian nation.

"If state institutions operate independently and do not support each other, institutional vulnerabilities will emerge. Government programs must receive support from state institutions, and vice versa," Muzani said in his remarks at the closing of the 2025 MPR RI Media Gathering in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Saturday evening (July 11).

He also emphasized the importance of synergy between state institutions in facing future national challenges, especially as Indonesia approaches its centennial anniversary in 2045.

In his speech, Muzani also touched on the need to evaluate the Indonesian constitution.

"When Indonesia turns 100 in 2045, the question is: is our current constitution still relevant? We need to start thinking about a modern constitution that can meet the challenges of the times," he said.

Muzani also expressed his appreciation for the performance of the parliamentary media, particularly the Parliamentary Journalists Coordinator (KWP).

He stated that the relationship established over time is not merely formal, but strategic and full of trust.

"Media coverage of the MPR has been very helpful in building a positive image of the institution, and we are grateful for that," he said.

He concluded his remarks by apologizing for any inconvenience caused during the event.

"We are open to continuing to improve communication and foster better relations in the future," he said.

Also present on the occasion were several members of the MPR, Dewa Gede Agung Budiarsana, Bambang Haryo Soekarto, the Regent of Central Lombok Darul Fathir Bahri, the Secretary General of the MPR Siti Fauziah, and other members of the MPR Secretariat General.
