Gaspol Today: Yunarto's Political Analysis On Prabowo-Mega's Affection

Charta Politika Executive Director Yunarto Wijaya analyzed the political intimacy between President Prabowo Subianto and PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. "I am still trying to see that this is a real effort from Mr. Prabowo to try to invite PDI Perjuangan to get closer, but in the context of harmonization, not in the context of a zero sum game, replacing Mr. Jokowi's position," said Yunarto on Gaspol! which aired on the Kompas.com YouTube channel, Monday (6/16/2025). 

Yunarto also considered the meeting between Gerindra Party Daily Chair Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri as a signal that Prabowo Subianto increasingly wants the bull party to get closer to the cabinet. According to Yunarto, Prabowo wants to show that he is the President of the Republic of Indonesia who cannot be influenced by anyone, including the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo. 

He said that the political intimacy is a sign that there are no twin suns in the current government. The only leader is Prabowo Subianto. In addition, Prabowo's closeness to Megawati is also considered to send a message to members of his coalition political parties (parpol) in the cabinet, that currently PDI-P can be embraced. 

He considered that the coalition political parties must be careful if they are not willing to submit to Prabowo and are still approaching Solo.
