The President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, along with a limited delegation, is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Russia this week in response to an official invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. "This afternoon, President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by a limited delegation from the Government of Indonesia, will depart for a state visit to Russia to fulfill the invitation from the President of Russia, His Excellency Vladimir Putin," stated Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his announcement on the Cabinet Secretariat's Instagram account (@sekretariat.kabinet) on Sunday evening. Teddy mentioned that the visit to Russia follows President Prabowo's attendance at a series of events in Singapore, including a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and participation in the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat held on Monday (June 16). Cabinet Secretary Teddy revealed that in Russia, President Prabowo will undergo an official state welcome ceremony and hold a bilateral meeting with President Putin on Thursday (June 19). The agenda for the visit will continue on Friday (June 20), with President Prabowo serving as the keynote speaker at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025. Teddy noted that this visit is part of efforts to strengthen comprehensive cooperation and partnership between Indonesia and Russia. "And certainly, this demonstrates that Indonesia, as a major nation, is increasingly recognized on the global stage, especially amidst the rising global challenges," concluded Cabinet Secretary Teddy. It was previously reported that Prabowo arrived in Singapore on Sunday evening local time to conduct a state visit and participate in the Leaders' Retreat meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that the meeting between the two national leaders will address several topics that were previously communicated during the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the end of May.
