President of the Prosperous Justice Party or PKS Al Muzzammil Yusuf responded to the letter from the TNI Retired Soldiers Forum regarding the impeachment of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to the MPR and DPR. Al Muzzamil said that the proposal from the retired soldiers was a reflection of a democratic country. Moreover, he said, the initiator of the proposal was a TNI retiree who loves the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. "Of course PKS respects the various political dynamics that exist," said Muzzammil at the PKS Sacrifice Slaughter Peak Press Conference in Jakarta on Saturday, June 7, 2025. According to him, PKS works as a party and member of the council constitutionally. Al Muzzammil said that as long as everything goes constitutionally, PKS will only be involved in it. However, PKS hopes and prays for the best leadership for Indonesia. Muzzammil said that the success of the Prabowo Subianto government is the joy of 280 million Indonesian people, of which PKS is also a part. "We all pray for the good of the nation and state in the future," he said. Previously, the TNI Retired Soldiers Forum sent a letter to the DPR and MPR regarding the proposal to impeach Gibran. The letter dated May 26, 2025 was addressed to the MPR Speaker for the 2024-2029 period and the DPR Speaker for the 2024-2029 period. The letter was signed by, among others, TNI General (Ret.) Fachrul Razi, TNI Marshal (Ret.) Hanafi Asnan, TNI General (Ret.) Tyasno Soedarto, and TNI Admiral (Ret.) Slamet Soebijanto. MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani claimed to have not monitored the letter from the TNI Retired Soldiers Forum. "I haven't come to the office because I want to take a holiday for Eid (Eid al-Adha)," he said after Eid al-Adha prayers at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Friday, June 6, 2025. In a previous statement, Muzani said that Prabowo and Gibran were a pair of candidates chosen through the 2024 presidential election. He said that Prabowo and Gibran had been inaugurated because they were superior to their two competitors, so the victory was constitutionally valid. Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad also claimed that he had not read the letter from the retired high-ranking TNI officers. Dasco said that even though he was in recess, he still went to the office to sign the letters, but had not found the letter from the TNI Retired Forum on his desk. "Yes, not yet, how to respond," he said. According to him, the letter is still with the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPR RI and has not been forwarded to the DPR RI Leadership. When he was in the parliamentary complex, he had not met with the Secretary General of the DPR RI.
