Rumored To Be Director General Of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto Participated In Assessment Since March 20

Former Deputy of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Bimo Wijayanto, who is rumored to be the Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, admitted that he had been asked to take part in the assessment since March 20, 2025. "The notification was that I was invited to the Palace for the assessment, that was March 20," said Bimo at the Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/20/2025). Bimo admitted that he did not know when he would be inaugurated as Director General of Taxes. However, he suspected that the inauguration could be held this week. 

"(The inauguration) As soon as possible," said Bimo. 

"Maybe this week, maybe, maybe," he added. It is known that Bimo Wijayanto and the Main Secretary of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) who was once a member of the Mawar Team, Lieutenant General TNI Djaka Budi Utama, were summoned by President Prabowo Subianto to the Palace today. Bimo also revealed President Prabowo's direction to him and Djaka. 

Bimo explained that Prabowo asked them to fix the taxation system in Indonesia. "He gave a lot of direction, he emphasized his commitment to improve the Indonesian tax system to be more accountable, more integrity, more independent to secure his national programs, especially from the state revenue side," said Bimo. While Bimo is rumored to be the Director General of Taxation, Lt. Gen. Djaka is rumored to fill the position of Director General of Customs and Excise.
