The briefing of the elected regional heads and deputy heads from the 2024 Pilkada from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) discussed three important topics, namely regional potential, the party's distinctive agenda, and governance. "These three agendas have a focus, challenges, and lessons learned from each experience that we have shared," said the Head of the PDIP DPP for Government and Regional Autonomy Ganjar Pranowo at the closing of the briefing at the PDIP Party School, Jakarta, Sunday. Ganjar explained that a number of potentials in the regions led by PDIP cadres include agriculture, trade, tourism, and logistics. However, this potential is not free from challenges such as human resource management, financial allocation, connectivity, and branding. "Several issues regarding support for industry or MSMEs emerged from various discussions and I think that is typical of our defense of the common people," he said. The distinctive features of the PDIP agenda relate to education, poverty alleviation, and food security. Ganjar said that several PDIP regional heads have expanded access to free education facilities, intervened in budget spending, and encouraged food reserves. "So it takes political support and legalization including challenges from the bureaucracy and assistance from central friends, especially from the DPR today," he said. Meanwhile, in terms of governance, the provision is focused on efforts by regional heads to serve the community optimally. One of them is through digitalization of services, bureaucratic reform, and optimization of regional original income (PAD). "Then there is resistance from the bureaucracy that we must optimize with the strengths of the theoretical basis and experience that we had yesterday, as well as data validation so that all targets are truly based on data that we will complete together," he said.
