The Instruction From Megawati To Postpone The Retreat Has Been Attributed To Psychological Considerations, According To The PDIP

Tuesday, 25 Feb 2025

The Chairman of the Solo City Branch of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), FX Hadi Rudyatmo, has addressed the directive issued by the PDIP Chairperson, Megawati Soekarnoputri, which requests that PDIP regional leaders postpone their retreat activities at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java. This instruction was given following the detention of PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Rudy, as he is commonly known, stated that the directive was issued by the PDIP Chairperson in light of the psychological state of the regional leaders who are PDIP cadres, particularly after Hasto's detention. "In my opinion, Ms. Mega is considering the psychological condition of the elected PDIP cadres (as regional leaders). The situation involving Hasto will undoubtedly affect their mindset during the retreat," Rudy remarked when approached by journalists at the Solo City Council building on Friday, February 21, 2025.

He expressed confidence that the PDIP cadres who have been officially inaugurated as regional leaders will comply with Megawati's directive. "Typically, PDIP cadres are very obedient. The postponement of the retreat does not imply that it will not occur; it simply means it will be rescheduled. Perhaps the retreat will take place at a different location and time," he explained.

Rudy further noted that Megawati is prioritizing the need for regional leaders to coordinate with their staff to effectively implement various programs. "Ms. Mega's consideration is that it would be better for you to hold coordination meetings with the regional secretary and their teams to adapt and execute the policy programs that were promised during the campaign," he added.

It was reported last night that PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri issued an instruction letter requesting that PDIP regional leaders postpone their trip to Magelang. This directive is outlined in Letter Number 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025, dated Thursday, February 20, 2025.
