Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto said that 40 presenters have been prepared for the retreat or debriefing of regional heads at the Military Academy (Akmil), Magelang, Central Java, from February 21-28, 2025. “Yes, there are,” Bima said in a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Office, Jakarta, Monday, when confirmed about the news of 40 presenters in the debriefing of regional heads. Bima explained that initially the ministry planned to invite all 48 Red and White Cabinet (KMP) ministers to be presenters. However, he said, the ministry considered the tight timeframe of the retreat, and the need to invite presenters from the National Defense Institute (Lemhannas) to discuss archipelago insights and national resilience. Therefore, he said that not all KMP ministers could be speakers, so the Ministry of Home Affairs arranged the ministers needed to provide direction or explanation of national priority programs in the briefing. “Finance Minister Sri Mulyani will talk about efficiency, for example, the Head of the Nutrition Agency (Dadan Hindayana) will explain about the Free Nutritious Meal program. Then, Minister of Agriculture (Amran Sulaiman) and Coordinating Minister for Food (Zulkifli Hasan) will talk about food self-sufficiency targets,” Bima said, mentioning several KMP ministers who will be presenters at the briefing. Meanwhile, he explained that if the ministers who have been prepared to be presenters at the retreat cannot attend, they cannot be replaced by echelon I or II officials in the ministry. “Yes, if the minister cannot attend, the deputy minister is still possible because cabinet members certainly understand very well,” he said. When asked by journalists about whether or not there were presenters from abroad, he explained that the presenters only came from KMP ministers and Lemhannas. Before undergoing debriefing on February 21-28, 2025 at Akmil, the elected pairs of regional head and deputy regional head candidates will attend the inauguration simultaneously on Thursday (20/2).
