Prabowo's Signal Reshuffle: How Ministers And Political Parties Are Responding?

A number of ministers and political party elites have expressed their views regarding the discourse surrounding a potential cabinet reshuffle following the first 100 days of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration. This discussion gained traction after Prabowo cautioned his administration to adhere to his directives for the welfare of the people during his speech at the 102nd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Prabowo emphasized his readiness to take action against anyone who fails to comply with his guidance in nation-building. "Those who are disobedient, those who resist, and those who do not align with the people's demand for a clean government, I will take action against them," stated Prabowo. 

What do the ministers say? Prabowo's statement has elicited a variety of responses from his aides in the Merah Putih Cabinet, including: 

Coordinating Minister for PM: I haven't heard anything yet. Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) considers it reasonable for Prabowo to signal a cabinet reshuffle to encourage his ministers to perform better. According to the Chairman of the National Awakening Party, evaluations should be conducted regularly, especially since Prabowo has warned ministers to implement his vision and mission. "I haven't heard anything yet, but it is reasonable; evaluations are necessary at all times. In fact, Mr. Prabowo has already issued warnings, particularly to senior bureaucrats who are not executing his vision and mission," remarked Cak Imin at JCC Senayan on Friday, February 7, 2025. 

Minister of Housing: We must be prepared. Minister of Public Works and Housing Maruarar Sirait expressed his readiness to face the possibility of a reshuffle after the initial 100 days of Prabowo's administration. As a presidential aide, he believes it is essential to be prepared for the responsibilities and the potential of being removed from his position. "As his aide, we must be prepared; we must be ready," stated Maruarar at the DPR RI Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
