Interior Minister Tito Karnavian stated that the inauguration of regional heads resulting from the 2024 Simultaneous Elections could take place 12 days after the Constitutional Court's dismissal ruling. It is important to note that the dismissal ruling regarding the disputes of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections will be conducted on February 4-5, 2025. "We estimate that it will take approximately 12 days, from either February 5 or February 6," Tito remarked during a meeting at the Constitutional Court building in Jakarta on Friday, January 31, 2025. Tito indicated that this 12-day timeframe is not significantly different from the initial plan for the inauguration of regional heads on February 6, 2025. Therefore, he urged the elected regional heads who are not involved in any disputes at the Constitutional Court to exercise patience as they await their inauguration. "Please be a little patient, friends. I have received calls from several of you; just relax for a moment. We want everything to be synchronized, and it is sufficient to do it all at once," he expressed. Additionally, it is noteworthy that the inauguration of the elected regional heads not involved in disputes at the Constitutional Court, originally scheduled for February 6, 2025, has been canceled. This cancellation was made by the government after considering the timing of the dismissal ruling related to the 2024 Simultaneous Elections, which is close to the inauguration date of February 4-5, 2025. President Prabowo Subianto has requested a postponement of the inauguration for efficiency reasons, allowing the regional heads without disputes to be inaugurated simultaneously with those declared winners from the Constitutional Court's dismissal ruling. Currently, the Constitutional Court is handling 310 cases related to the 2024 Simultaneous Elections, encompassing 249 electoral districts. From the numerous districts under litigation, decisions will be made regarding which cases will proceed to evidentiary hearings and which will be dismissed.
