Zudan Arif Fakrulloh has been officially appointed as the new Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, today, Tuesday (January 7). The individual, who also serves as the chairman of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) for the term 2022-2027, fills a position that has been vacant. Prior to Zudan's appointment, the BKN was led by acting head Haryomo Dwi Putranto. "The Civil Service Law mandates the direction of future ASN management transformation. I hope that the synergy, collaboration, and teamwork that have been established so well continue to be enhanced," stated Rini during Zudan's inauguration, as quoted from the official release on Tuesday (January 7). The first task assigned by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini, is to strengthen the merit system. The BKN is expected to ensure that the recruitment, placement, and promotion processes for civil servants are conducted transparently and accountably. Secondly, Rini emphasized the importance of managing ASN development. She urged Zudan to implement oversight, guidance, and refinement of the ASN management system. The third directive involves overseeing the competency assessment of civil servants. Rini expressed her hope that Zudan and his team would ensure that ASN assessments are conducted in a professional and objective manner to evaluate and develop civil servant competencies. Lastly, the fourth task is to foster a culture of excellent public service. The BKN is expected to enhance services to civil servants through the application of technology. "Ensure that civil service delivery to ASN is conducted professionally, efficiently, and based on increasingly accurate and improved technology and data," Rini remarked. "This leadership transition is not merely ceremonial but also a significant moment to continue this transformation," she concluded. Zudan has an impressive career in bureaucratic affairs. In addition to leading Korpri, he previously held the position of Director General of Population and Civil Registration at the Ministry of Home Affairs from July 1, 2015, to March 15, 2023.
