NasDem Addresses The Relationship Between Prabowo And Surya Paloh

The relationship between President Prabowo and Surya Paloh has become a subject of speculation following the absence of the NasDem Party Chairman at a meeting of political party leaders held at Prabowo's residence. Nevertheless, Saan Mustopa, the Deputy Chairman of the NasDem Party, stated that their relationship remains amicable. He explained that Surya Paloh was unable to attend due to being abroad for some time, and his presence was represented by Viktor Laiskodat, the Chairman of the NasDem Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives. "There are no issues; in fact, the relationship is becoming warmer," Saan remarked at the Parliament Complex, as reported by Antaranews.

He further emphasized that the NasDem Party remains committed to being part of President Prabowo's administration and will continue to support various policies that will be implemented. However, Saan admitted that he had not received information regarding the topics discussed during the meeting of coalition party leaders, as he was currently on recess visiting his electoral district.

"This is a regular occurrence; President Prabowo indeed wishes to hold meetings among party leaders regularly," he stated. According to him, these meetings typically address various issues and policies to be adopted, including matters related to Christmas and New Year. Recently, a similar meeting among party leaders took place at the Palace. "Thus, for communication and other matters, it is essential to strengthen ties. All parties are committed to supporting President Prabowo's administration. Therefore, regular meetings are important," the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives added. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto, who is also the Chairman of the Gerindra Party, convened the leaders of supporting parties at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara No. 4, Jakarta, on Saturday, December 28. The meeting was closed to the public and lasted approximately two hours.
