PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, known as BNI, is expanding its mobile banking app, wondr by BNI, into major cities around the world. This time, wondr by BNI is supporting Indonesia Week Hong Kong 2024, organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong, Indonesia Incorporated Hong Kong, the UI Alumni Association Hong Kong Chapter, and the Indonesian Student Association in Hong Kong from November 1-3, 2024. This event is part of the "wondr is everywhere" series held by wondr by BNI throughout the year. The international campaign has successfully introduced banking solutions, empowerment, and financial literacy in major cities like Amsterdam, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Washington DC, Singapore, and now Hong Kong as the final stop. Around 12,000 participants, including local residents and the Indonesian diaspora, attended the event. In collaboration with KJRI HK and other partners, wondr by BNI aims to provide financial literacy to the Indonesian community in Hong Kong and offer easy and secure banking solutions. The Indonesian Consul General in Hong Kong, Yul Edison, hopes that this event, which promotes Indonesian culture, cuisine, MSME products, and investment forums, will foster deeper cooperation between Indonesia and Hong Kong. BNI is committed to helping Indonesians achieve their financial dreams wherever they are. The number of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Hong Kong is steadily increasing. As of May 2024, there are over 172,000 PMIs in Hong Kong, with half of them being BNI customers, totaling 87,000 PMIs. Mobile banking transactions by PMIs have surged by 81% in one year, reaching 2 million transactions by the end of 2023, up from 1.15 million in 2022. SEVP Retail Digital Solutions BNI, Rian Eriana Kaslan, expressed great enthusiasm about participating in Indonesia Week Hong Kong 2024. This support shows our commitment to providing financial solutions for the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong. At this event, we presented various programs that focus not only on banking convenience but also on empowerment and financial literacy. We are also proud to introduce wondr by BNI on the global stage, said Rian. On the first day (November 1) of Indonesia Week Hong Kong 2024, BNI received a prestigious award as the Best Indonesian Bank in Hong Kong for Serving the Indonesian Diaspora from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong. This award was accepted by BNI Hong Kong's General Manager, Farid Faraitody, as a testament to BNI's commitment to providing the best services and innovative financial solutions for the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong. Coinciding with Indonesia's Innovation Day celebrated on November 1, BNI, through the wondr platform, has offered services that are not only easily accessible but also tailored to meet the specific financial, educational, and entrepreneurial needs of the Indonesian community abroad. We hope that wondr by BNI will make it easier for the Indonesian diaspora to manage their daily transactions with user-friendly features that align with their financial needs and future planning, concluded Rian Eriana Kaslan.
