The Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia has scheduled two regional coordination meetings (rakorwil) in early October with election organizers to prevent violations of the code of ethics during the 2024 regional elections. DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito stated that the first rakorwil will take place in Makassar, South Sulawesi, while the second will be held in Jakarta. "We will gather the Chairpersons of the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) from the districts, cities, and provinces," Heddy mentioned during a confirmation in the Puncak area of Bogor Regency, West Java, on Friday. He emphasized that the gathering of the heads of election organizing institutions aims to ensure that every stage of the regional elections adheres to ethical enforcement. It is imperative to avoid any ethical violations, particularly at the ad hoc level, as complaints regarding ethical breaches have primarily originated from this level of organization, he stated. He further explained that the regional coordination meeting included technical guidance to ensure that ethical violations do not occur during the 2024 local elections. The schedule for the 2024 regional elections is as follows: - From September 25 to November 23, 2024: Campaign activities will take place; - From November 23 to November 26, 2024: Voters will be informed of the location and time of voting at the polling stations (TPS); - On November 26, 2024: Preparation of the polling stations will occur; - On November 27, 2024: Voting will be conducted; and - From November 27 to December 16, 2024: The counting of votes and the compilation of the results will take place.
