The Commission for Information (KI) will directly oversee the accessibility of election voting rights for individuals with disabilities. "The Central and Regional KIs will conduct on-site monitoring prior to the elections to assess the readiness of the General Election Commission (KPU) in terms of providing access and voting rights for individuals with disabilities and other vulnerable groups," stated Rospita Vici Paulyn, the Commissioner for Research and Documentation at the KIP Office in Jakarta on Thursday. Meanwhile, she mentioned that the Central KI had previously attempted to gather feedback in advance regarding information disclosure through focused discussion forums, such as the one held on Thursday with the theme of safeguarding information disclosure for the 2024 Pilkada. Additionally, suggestions for information disclosure during the 2024 elections via the targeted discussion platform will be directly presented to election organizers, such as the KPU and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu). Regrettably, the commissioners were not in attendance. It is our hope that key decision-makers, specifically the commissioners, will participate so that we can seek explicit commitments from the election organizers on the readiness of the system, assistance for individuals with disabilities, as well as patients in hospitals who may face challenges in exercising their voting rights. Unfortunately, due to the absence of the commissioners, these important matters could not be addressed during the forum. Nevertheless, we will persist in our communication efforts and carry out direct monitoring activities. The following is the schedule of the 2024 Pilkada stages: 1. February 27-November 16, 2024: Notification and registration of election observers; 2. April 24-May 31, 2024: Submission of the list of potential voters; 3.
