President Prabowo Subianto immediately arranged a schedule to fulfill the request of Australian Prime Minister (PM) Anthony Albanese who wanted Indonesia as the destination for his first official visit after winning the election and being re-elected as prime minister. PM Albanese expressed his desire to visit Indonesia when he received congratulations from President Prabowo via telephone, Sunday (4/5). "I want Indonesia to be my first visit," said PM Albanese to President Prabowo as quoted from the official broadcast of President Prabowo Subianto's Media Team in Jakarta, Sunday night. President Prabowo also welcomed the request, and the President also stated that he was honored to hear PM Albanese's request. "Excellent! A great honor," said President Prabowo. PM Albanese then emphasized that Indonesia is a neighboring country and an important partner of Australia. The two countries, according to Albanese, must have strong ties. "Australia and Indonesia have an unshakeable bond," said PM Albanese. President Prabowo also agreed with PM Albanese's statement. “Right, right, right. Okay. We will schedule it with your team,” President Prabowo said to PM Albanese. The President also stated Indonesia’s readiness to welcome PM Albanese. “We will arrange your visit here. We will arrange it,” President Prabowo said. In the same conversation, PM Albanese also talked about his tired condition after going through the general election stages. Albanese told Prabowo that he had not slept for several days. President Prabowo responded by assessing Albanese’s victory as a historic event, because Albanese became Australia’s first prime minister to serve two consecutive terms in the last 21 years. “Great, extraordinary!” said President Prabowo expressing his admiration for PM Albanese’s victory. PM Albanese was re-elected after winning an absolute victory in the Australian election, Saturday (3/5) local time. Albanese also became Australia’s first prime minister to be elected for the second time in the last 21 years. Thus, PM Albanese will again lead Australia for the next 3 years. The Labor Party, led by Albanese, also holds a majority of seats, namely 87 seats out of a total of 150 seats in parliament.
