The Indonesian government has established several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) following President Prabowo Subianto's visit to the Middle East and Turkey, focusing on collaboration in energy, land management, and economic development. Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that the visit, which took place from April 9 to April 14, 2025, included consultations and discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing strategic cooperation across various sectors. "This visit commenced with a trip to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to meet with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan," he noted. During this meeting, the two leaders engaged in bilateral discussions regarding strategic cooperation in energy, defense, and economic development. "There are eight documents, including four government-to-government (G2G) agreements," Yusuf added. In addition to the G2G agreements, he mentioned that there are also business-to-business (B2B) collaborations between Indonesian state-owned enterprises and their Emirati counterparts. Following his time in Abu Dhabi, President Prabowo continued his journey to Ankara, Turkey, on April 9-10, 2025. Yusuf explained that President Prabowo received a warm and exceptional welcome, being greeted personally by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an. "President Erdo?an was notably impressed during his state visit to Indonesia, which motivated him to extend a similar reception to President Prabowo," Yusuf remarked. In Ankara, President Prabowo delivered a speech before the Turkish parliament, marking his first such experience since taking office as President of the Republic of Indonesia. Additionally, President Prabowo held a private meeting with President Erdo?an and witnessed the signing and exchange of cooperation agreements between the two nations.
