Ahead Of Hasto's Trial, Megawati Gathers Members Of DPR Commission III From PDI-P Faction

Ahead of the trial of the bribery case of the management of members of the 2019-2024 DPR and obstruction of investigation that ensnared the Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Hasto Kristiyanto, PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri will gather members of Commission III of the DPR from PDI-P at her residence on Thursday (13/3/2025). 

In the meeting, Megawati is said to provide direction and at the same time observe the political and legal dynamics that have occurred recently. 

Meanwhile, regarding the Hasto case, the PDI-P faction in the DPR and the PDI-P DPP emphasized that they have the same stance, namely seeing the case that ensnared Hasto as the politicization of law. Members of Commission III of the DPR from the PDI-P faction will also oversee Hasto's trial process at the Jakarta Corruption Court, which will begin on Friday (14/3/2025). 

In the Letter of Instruction and Invitation Number 7327/IN/DPP/2025 received by Kompas, the PDI-P Central Leadership Council instructed and invited the Secretary of the Faction and Member of Poksi-III of the PDI Perjuangan Faction to attend Megawati's residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Jakarta, tomorrow. The letter was signed by PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri on March 11, 2025. The letter also stated the agenda, namely the direction of the PDI-P General Chair in observing the dynamics of national legal politics. 

The letter of instruction was confirmed by the Chair of the PDI-P DPP Ronny Talapessy when met at the PDI-P DPP office, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/3/2025). However, he was reluctant to provide further explanation.

Present at the event were the Secretary of the PDI-P Faction in the DPR Dolfie Othniel Frederic Palit, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR from the PDI-P Faction Dedi Indra Permana Soediro, and a number of members of Commission III of the DPR from the PDI-P Faction such as I Wayan Sudirta, Sudin, Dewi Juliani, Gilang Dhielafararez, Pulung Agustanto, and Saparuddin. In addition, the chairmen of the PDI-P DPP, such as Ronny Talapessy, Deddy Y Sitorus, Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Hasto Kristiyanto's legal team, were also present.
