Recently, Aguan has played a role in several National Strategic Projects (PSN) initiated by the government, including the Swissotel Nusantara and Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2. Aguan is alleged to be involved in a scandal concerning coastal fencing in the waters of Tangerang, Banten. His company, PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua (PANI), is suspected of holding a majority stake in PT Cahaya Inti Sentosa, one of the firms that possesses a Right to Cultivate Certificate (HGB) in the waters of Tangerang, Banten. PT PANI reportedly holds a majority share with ownership of 88,500 shares, valued at approximately Rp 88 billion.
