Prabowo Says AHY And Gibran Have Potential To Compete In Future Presidential Election

President Prabowo Subianto said that the General Chair of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY has the opportunity to compete with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the presidential election contest in the future. 

According to Prabowo, both are still young and have the opportunity to become president. "Now sitting side by side, later these two people can compete," said Prabowo to AHY and Gibran who were sitting side by side at the 6th Democratic Congress at the Ritz Carlton South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Prabowo then mentioned the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi, who had defeated him twice in the presidential election. Even so, Jokowi still invited him to join the government. "Mr. Jokowi beat me, I want to say beat me, it's not nice for journalists, the President of Indonesia shouldn't talk like that, beat me twice, right," he said. 

The closing ceremony of the 6th Democratic Party Congress was attended by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The congress was attended by ministers of the Red and White Cabinet and leaders of high state institutions. In addition, the general chairmen of political parties, both parties in parliament and non-parliamentary, were invited guests at the closing of the VI Congress. 

The implementation of the party congress founded by the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was held for two days on February 24-25, 2025. The theme raised in the 6th congress was For the People, Democrats Make President Prabowo's Government a Success. 

Meanwhile, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) returned as the General Chairperson of the Democratic Party for 2025-2030. He was elected by acclamation in the plenary session of the VI Democratic Party Congress held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta last Monday. "Decided, to appoint Doctor Haji Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as the General Chairperson of the Central Leadership Council of the Democratic Party for the 2025-2030 term," said the leader of the IV Democratic Congress session Edhie Baskoro Yudyohono at the event location. 

After the agenda of determining the general chairman, the Democrats continued with determining the chairman of the Democrat High Council who again elected Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
