Trade Minister Budi Santoso, also known as Mendag Busan, today, Wednesday (January 22), inaugurated the Central Board of the Indonesian Export Companies Association (DPP GPEI) at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta. During the ceremony, Mendag Busan expressed that the Ministry of Trade is always open to collaboration efforts to boost Indonesia's exports.

Mendag Busan emphasized the importance of good collaboration with stakeholders like GPEI in developing national exports. This collaboration is crucial, particularly in supporting the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Innovation and Export Readiness Program (UMKM BISA Ekspor) run by the Ministry.

"The Ministry strengthens collaboration with various business associations to enhance national exports, ensuring that MSMEs can dominate the domestic market and expand globally. This effort aligns with GPEI's mission to increase MSME exports. We hope GPEI can collaborate effectively," said Mendag Busan.

He congratulated the 30 new DPP GPEI board members and expressed hope that the new leadership would assist the government in achieving an export target of 7.1 percent by 2025.

"We will always work together with the new board. We will collaborate to meet the 2025 export target of 7.1 percent and the goal of enhancing MSME exports. Congratulations to all DPP GPEI board members for the 2024–2029 term. We hope you can perform your duties well. May GPEI strengthen its collaboration and cooperation with the government, particularly the Ministry of Trade," Mendag Busan stated.

Meanwhile, GPEI Chairman Benny Soetrisno for the 2024–2029 term mentioned that GPEI will support the Ministry's main programs. GPEI will also continue to educate and connect international buyers with Indonesian business players.

GPEI will continue to support government programs. GPEI focuses on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help the Ministry of Trade's initiative, UMKM BISA Ekspor. GPEI can provide advocacy, mediation, and education for SMEs. Together, we can organize educational sessions and meetings between foreign buyers and local business owners, said Benny.

At the inauguration, the Secretary General of GPEI for the 2024–2029 term, Toto Dirgantoro, the Chairman of the GPEI Advisory Board for the same term, Johnny Dharmawan, the Chairman of the GPEI Supervisory Board, Danang Girindrawardhana, and various export business players were present.
