Visit The Ulos Sianipar Gallery, Supported By The Ministry Of Trade To Promote Local Wisdom In MSME Exports

Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that the Ministry of Trade supports the promotion of outstanding products from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that showcase high local wisdom. The ministry offers various facilities to help present these products at national and international exhibitions.

Efforts to enhance the capacity of human resources and the quality of MSME products with local wisdom can also be coordinated with regional trade offices. Minister Budi Santoso shared these points during his visit to the Ulos Sianipar Gallery in Medan, North Sumatra, on Tuesday, December 17.

"The Ministry of Trade backs the promotion of superior products, especially those rich in local wisdom. We hope that Indonesian products with local wisdom gain recognition worldwide as high-value items.

The Ministry is ready to support the promotion of MSME products with local wisdom through various exhibitions. We also have trade representatives abroad who can assist in finding markets in target export countries," said Minister Budi Santoso.

He also mentioned that the Ministry's support for MSMEs with locally inspired products aligns with three of its programs. The Ministry has a Domestic Market Strengthening program that focuses on protecting and empowering local businesses.

Additionally, there is an Export Market Expansion program related to promotion and trade agreement negotiations with partner countries. Lastly, the Ministry has the MSMEs Dare to Innovate, Ready to Adapt for Export (MSMEs BISA Export) program, which emphasizes the development of MSMEs to enhance their export performance.

During this visit, Minister Budi Santoso was accompanied by the Director General of Domestic Trade, Moga Simatupang, and the Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order, Rusmin Amin.

Attending the event were Acting Governor of North Sumatra Agus Fatoni, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, Head of the Department of Industry, Trade, and Energy and Mineral Resources of North Sumatra Mulyadi Simatupang, and owner of Galeri Ulos Sianipar Robert M.T. Sianipar.

Robert expressed his hopes to Minister of Trade Budi Santoso for the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). "Our hope for the government is to help us grow well. At Galeri Ulos Sianipar, some SMEs place their products for sale. This aims to allow SMEs to create in the right place," Robert explained.
