The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, emphasized the need for proper accessibility to and from the Karawang High-Speed Train Station. He is actively pushing for the rapid development of road access to the station, which is expected to begin operations early next year, ensuring that the community benefits fully from its presence.

This was stated by the Minister during a visit to the Karawang High-Speed Train Station in West Java, alongside Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Kartika Wirjoatmojo, on Friday (December 13).

The Minister highlighted that this station will be a key point in the development of a fast and integrated transportation system in Indonesia.

“The operational plan for the Karawang High-Speed Train Station is a significant step in supporting integrated fast transportation. We hope it will provide convenience for the public and stimulate economic growth in Karawang and its surroundings,” said Minister Dudy.

As part of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train route (KCJB), the frequency of train services will increase from 48 to 62 trips per day to support the station's operations, with 31 of those trips stopping at the Karawang High-Speed Train Station.

This is expected to enhance regional connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and speed up the movement of goods and people, especially between Karawang and Jakarta, making it a strategic transportation hub. The station's presence is also anticipated to drive development in the surrounding area, create new economic opportunities, and strengthen the industrial sector in Karawang.

To support connectivity, the Karawang High-Speed Train Station is planned to be linked with other transportation modes, such as feeder buses and public transport.

In preparation for operations, the Minister of Transportation emphasized the importance of close collaboration among the central government, local governments, and private sectors to speed up the completion of road access and other technical preparations.

With the upcoming operation of the Karawang High-Speed Train Station, the Ministry of Transportation has also committed to ensuring safety, comfort, and smooth operations of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train, especially at the Karawang station. This effort is part of the government's vision to develop modern, efficient, and sustainable transportation infrastructure in Indonesia.

Present at this event were the Director General of Railways, M. Risal Wasal, the President Director of PT KAI, Didiek Hartantyo, the President Director of KCIC, Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, the Director General of Infrastructure Financing and Housing from the Ministry of Public Works, Triono Junasmono, and the Director General of Spatial Planning from ATR/BPN, Embun Sari.
