PT Mitra Asa Pratama, a distributor of medical equipment for 25 years, has successfully helped the Depok Health Office achieve a MURI Record for the largest series of Carbon Monoxide tests for students. The testing took place over ten days as part of the 60th National Health Day celebrations in 2024, involving 5,000 students from 126 junior and senior high schools, as well as equivalent madrasahs in Depok. PT Mitra Asa Pratama's support for this event highlights its commitment to improving public health through innovative medical technology, aligning with the company's vision and mission. Teguh Purnomo, General Sales Manager of PT Mitra Asa Pratama, stated that this is an important moment to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of carbon monoxide exposure from cigarette smoke. "We are proud to support this government program, which has been running since 2018, and it aligns with our mission to enhance the quality of the medical device industry in Indonesia through innovative health technology and a strong market focus. With the Smokerlyzer technology, we hope to make a positive impact on society, especially the youth, to be more aware of the dangers of smoking," Teguh said at the main event held on November 30 in Depok, West Java. During this event, PT Mitra Asa Pratama showcased the Smokerlyzer technology—an advanced tool that quickly and accurately detects carbon monoxide levels in the body. This device enables effective mass testing to assess and control the effects of cigarette smoke exposure on both active and passive smokers, particularly among students. As part of efforts to reduce smoking prevalence among teenagers, a smoking behavior survey was also conducted to identify smoking habits among students. To support the efforts of the Depok City government in creating a healthier community, this technology also shows our commitment to improving the health quality of the Indonesian population by providing innovative medical devices and impactful health technology solutions, he added. Achieving this MURI record highlights the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government to create a healthier society, especially for the youth in Depok City. The Depok City Health Office hopes similar activities can continue in the future to reach more people, reduce the number of smokers in Depok, and raise awareness about the health effects of smoking on both active and passive smokers, encouraging smokers, especially teenagers, to quit. "This achievement is not only a source of pride for us but also demonstrates the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government in building a healthier community. We hope similar events can keep happening to reach more people and foster a healthier, more health-conscious generation," Teguh concluded.
