The presence of regional leaders significantly impacts the sustainability of development within a region. The quality of the vision and mission presented by candidates for regional leadership will undoubtedly influence the societal conditions. As representatives of the central government, regional leaders are responsible for ensuring that the central government's programs are effectively implemented. Furthermore, they must guarantee that all presidential initiatives are not merely announced but are also successfully delivered. This means that these programs should reach the intended beneficiaries, stimulate the economy, and enhance social welfare. The importance of the 2024 regional elections has been met with skepticism by some voters, particularly in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. The number of individuals abstaining from voting, or those who chose not to participate, in Jakarta has surpassed the total votes received by the three candidates. The Jakarta gubernatorial election featured candidates Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. According to data released by the General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta, there are 8,214,007 individuals listed in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) across 14,835 polling stations (TPS). Following the vote count conducted by KPU Jakarta, the voter turnout was only 53.05 percent. This indicates that the abstention rate in Jakarta reached 46.95 percent, equivalent to approximately 3.8 million people, marking the highest abstention rate in Jakarta's history. Nationally, the voter participation in the 2024 regional elections is predominantly composed of Millennials (aged 1981-1996) and Generation Z (aged 1997-2012), whereas Jakarta's demographic is primarily represented by Generation X (aged 1965-1980).
