The Head of the Promotion and Information Section of the Bantul Regency Tourism Office, Markus Purnomo Adi, stated that visits over the two days saw a significant rise. On Saturday, the visitor count reached 11,895 people, marking a 97 percent increase compared to the previous week, where on Saturday (19/7/2025), the count was only 6,016 people.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the number of visitors reached 18,035 people, reflecting a 96 percent increase compared to the previous week, when on Sunday (20/7/2025), the visitor count was 9,185 people.

"The increase is attributed to two events, namely the Kite Festival at Parangkusumo Beach and the culinary event in the Pantai Baru area," stated Markus when contacted by a reporter via telephone on Monday (July 28, 2025).

Impact of tourism and culinary events

He mentioned that this influx of visitors is expected to boost the economy of the coastal community in Bantul, which is the primary goal. The Head of the Bantul Tourism Office, Saryadi, noted that this year, the festival will feature 50 selected culinary tenants, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), local communities, and traditional culinary enthusiasts.

No less than 72 types of food and 16 types of traditional beverages from Bantul were showcased over the course of two days. "This event can stimulate the inclusive growth of the tourism sector, empower culinary SMEs, and enhance tourist visits to the southern coastal area of Bantul," stated Saryadi.
