The Peak Night Of The 498th Anniversary Of Jakarta City On June 22, 2025, Will Feature A Grand Performance

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will host the grand finale of the 498th Anniversary Celebration of the City of Jakarta on Sunday, June 22, 2025. This festive event will take place at Taman Lapangan Banteng from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM WIB, showcasing a blend of Betawi culture, a colossal performance, and music from renowned local artists. The Daily Executive Chair of the 498th Anniversary Series of the City of Jakarta, Suharini Eliawati, stated that this year's celebration carries the theme "Jakarta, a Global and Cultural City." 

This theme was selected to reflect Jakarta's increasingly modern face while still upholding local cultural values. "We are presenting a colossal performance rich in Betawi culture," Suharini remarked in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The peak night of Jakarta's 498th anniversary, what can we expect? According to sources, the event will showcase various traditional art elements unique to Betawi, including the procession of ondel-ondel, tanjidor, rebana, palang pintu, and performances by Abang None Jakarta.

In addition to artistic performances, the peak night of Jakarta's anniversary will also feature a bazaar for MSME products, a dancing fountain attraction, a fireworks display, and a music stage featuring top Indonesian musicians. The presence of strong cultural elements alongside modern entertainment symbolizes the synergy between local heritage and the spirit of a global city.

We welcome Jakarta's five centuries with optimism that this city will continue to grow, advance, and stand alongside global cities around the world," invited Suharini.
