Microsoft has introduced a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature to Bing, allowing its search engine to provide users with a summary of the information they are seeking. The AI in Bing will display a summary of the information users ask for, along with a link to the source of the information. Additionally, it will also display video links that offer further information on the topic. However, the availability of this feature is currently limited to a small number of users. Microsoft stated on Wednesday that they will be gradually introducing this feature, taking the time to gather feedback, test, learn, and ensure a great user experience before expanding its availability. Microsoft assures that this generative AI feature will not have any adverse effects on the web publication ecosystem. Microsoft emphasized that the generative search experience is carefully crafted to maintain traditional search results while enhancing the number of clickable links, such as references in search results. Engadget's report on Thursday mentioned that Google had previously rolled out a similar feature earlier in the year called AI Overview, aiming to retain users who were starting to rely on AI chatbots for information retrieval.
