Indonesia's First Appearance At The 2025 BRICS Summit

Indonesia marked its debut at the 2025 BRICS Summit with the presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Saturday (5/7/2025). Indonesia officially joined the forum earlier this year, precisely on January 6, 2025. Prabowo arrived at Galeão Air Base, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at 06.30 am local time. He was greeted directly with a military honor ceremony. 

As he crossed the red carpet after descending the plane stairs, trumpets were heard accompanied by salutes from the military honor guard that accompanied Prabowo's steps. 

Prabowo was also accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Meanwhile, at the end of the red carpet, Prabowo was greeted by a number of high-ranking Brazilian officials, namely Ambassador Laudemar Goncalves de Aguiar Neto, then the Secretary for Promotion of Trade, Science, Technology, Innovation, and Culture of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Commander of Galeão Airforce Base Colonel Marcell Barros de Paula. From the Indonesian side, also present to welcome him were the Indonesian Ambassador in Brasilia Edi Yusup, and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Brasilia Col. Rizal Ashwam. After the welcoming procession was completed, Prabowo boarded the official vehicle that had been prepared and continued his journey to the hotel where he was staying during the agenda in Rio de Janeiro.
