BCA has initiated the #InsanBCABerkebaya2024 movement to commemorate National Kebaya Day, which falls on July 24th. This activity is a manifestation of the company's commitment to preserving Indonesia's textile heritage. Through the #InsanBCABerkebaya2024 movement, BCA invites all female BCA employees to wear kebaya and traditional Indonesian textiles, while male BCA employees are encouraged to wear traditional Indonesian textiles. From management to employees across Indonesia, many have participated in this movement. Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at BCA, stated, "BCA sees kebaya as one of the national 'costumes' that is part of Indonesia's identity and culture. Kebaya also plays a significant role in the history of Indonesian women's struggle. Therefore, BCA is moved to be part of the effort to introduce and preserve kebaya. One of the initiatives is to encourage all BCA employees to wear kebaya on National Kebaya Day in 2024." In addition to the #InsanBCABerkebaya2024 initiative, BCA has undertaken various efforts to preserve Indonesian textile culture. Since 2022, through the Bakti BCA program, the company, in collaboration with the Indonesian Natural Dye Association (WARLAMI), has conducted natural dye training for weavers and textile enthusiasts in East Timor, Baduy, and East Sumba. Through this training, it is hoped that these communities can produce environmentally friendly and high-value textile works. In the first semester of 2024, BCA conducted natural dye training for a total of 65 participants. BCA's dedication has also brought the Wayang Hanoman Drama: What's Up with Shinta to the stage, attracting over 1,000 viewers and involving more than 100 youths and students. Additionally, BCA has organized an exhibition of comic strips created by 10 young comic artists who received guidance from Marvel and DC Comics artists. Furthermore, BCA has broken the MURI record as the Company with the Most Wayang Preservation Activities. BCA continues to collaborate with various stakeholders to provide contributions to individuals, communities, and society. BCA has long been supporting various art, music, and cultural events in Indonesia such as Teater Koma, Pagelaran Sabang Merauke, Festival Bedhayan, Festival Bandung Philharmonic, Jejak Candra Darusman Concert (2023), Dalang Bocah Festival, Jazz Gunung, and Sudamala Show. "Through the #InsanBCABerkebaya2024 event, we hope to inspire employees and the wider community to continue to appreciate and preserve kebaya, as one of the traditional clothing and cultural heritage of the archipelago. This activity is a manifestation of BCA's commitment as a national bank in preserving the national cultural heritage, as part of Indonesia's national identity," Hera concluded.
