United States (US) President Donald Trump spoke out after ordering attacks on a number of Iranian nuclear facilities. Previously, Trump was known to only report on the US attack on Iran via his social media. Trump announced on Truth Social that the attacks launched by US forces on nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan had been successful. "We have completed a very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. All aircraft are now out of Iranian airspace," Trump wrote, on Saturday (21/6/2025) evening local time, quoted from CNN. After that, Trump gave a short speech from the White House on Saturday at 22.00 local time (09.00 WIB). Key points of Trump's speech regarding the US attacking Iran As reported by Al Jazeera, US President Trump gave a short statement from the White House which lasted about 3 minutes. Here are the key points from his speech: Trump described the strike as a “spectacular military success”, claiming that Iran’s nuclear facilities had been “totally and totally destroyed”. He said that Iran “must now choose peace. Otherwise, the next strikes will be much bigger and much easier to do”. Trump added that there were “many targets remaining… if peace is not achieved soon, we will hit those targets with precision, speed and skill”. “This cannot continue,” Trump said. “There will be peace, or there will be a tragedy for Iran far greater than we have seen over the last eight days”. Israel was mentioned several times, with Trump thanking and congratulating Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He added that the US and Israel were “working as a team” and had “come a long way to eliminating a terrible threat to Israel”. Although Trump has previously vowed to avoid US military intervention abroad, he likened the strike to the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani during his first term. Trump also said that the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, would hold a press conference on Sunday at 8 a.m. local time (12:00 GMT).
