Thursday, 19 Jun 2025

The Indonesian government and Poland are committed to strengthening the economic sector in the next 5-10 years as part of the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"As the strongest economies in their respective regions, Poland in Central and Eastern Europe, and Indonesia in ASEAN, we want to strengthen this cooperation in the next 5 to 10 years," said Vice President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) ?ukasz Gwiazdowski in Poland, Tuesday.

This was conveyed by ?ukasz Gwiazdowski after meeting with a number of Indonesian entrepreneurs or businessmen in Poland to discuss a number of potential cooperation opportunities in various sectors.

On the momentum of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, ?ukasz said that Indonesia and Poland have done many things, especially in the fields of culture and education. Therefore, in the future, business and economic relations will be the main targets for both countries.

In general, PAIH sees great potential in several sectors that can be collaborated between Indonesia and Poland, starting from the implementation of a green economy, sustainable transportation, railway technology, waste management, to energy transition. In fact, it is possible to cooperate in the food sector and the like.

"We believe that the two countries can cooperate in trade and investment in these sectors," he said optimistically.

He hopes that the upcoming free trade agreement between the European Union and Indonesia can increase trade and investment and have a positive impact on the economic growth of both countries.

Referring to the current gross domestic product (GDP), Poland is ranked 21st in the world and is expected to rise to 20th position. Meanwhile, Indonesia is predicted to become the fourth or fifth economy in the world by the middle of this century. However, unfortunately, trade between the two countries is still relatively small.

"With close cooperation and supportive regulations, I am sure we can achieve extraordinary goals in the future," he said.
