Results Of President Macron's Visit: RI-France Sign Cooperation On Agriculture, Energy And Finance

French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Indonesia for three days, Tuesday-Thursday (27-29/5/2025) resulted in 21 strategic agreements between the two countries. Economic fields such as agriculture, finance and energy are also included in the 21 existing agreements. The economic agreements include intergovernmental cooperation (G-to-G), inter-institutional cooperation (P-to-P), private partnerships (B-to-B), and announcements of cooperation between central banks. 

As reported by the press release of the Presidential Secretariat on Friday, the agreements in the economic sector include: 

1. Agreement on cooperation in the agricultural sector, signed by the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture and the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty and Digital. 

2. Agreement on cooperation in the field of critical minerals and metals, signed by the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty and Digital. 

3. Agreement on cooperation in the field of sustainable forestry, signed by the Indonesian Minister of Forestry and the French Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial Sovereignty and Digital. 4. Cooperation agreement in the creative economy sector, signed by the Indonesian Minister of Creative Economy and the French Minister of Culture. 

5. Cooperation agreement in the transportation sector, signed by the Indonesian Minister of Transportation and the French Junior Minister for Francophone and International Partnerships. 

6. Cooperation agreement between the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and Danone, to support efforts to improve national nutrition to build a healthy and advanced generation. 

7. Cooperation agreement between Danantara, the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), and Eramet, regarding cooperation on critical minerals to support the electric vehicle ecosystem and nickel downstreaming. 

8. Joint Investment between PT. RGE Indonesia and TotalEnergies, regarding the development of solar power generation and battery energy storage projects to support the energy transition. 

9. Investment between PT Citra Bonang and Lesaffre, regarding the expansion of yeast production facilities to strengthen the supply chain in order to support food security priorities. 

10. Cooperation agreement between PT SMI, PT PLN, and HDF, regarding the development of a green hydrogen project in Eastern Indonesia to encourage clean energy including through financing support in the electricity sector. 

In addition, a collaboration between Bank Indonesia and Banque de France was also announced.
