President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to undergo an official visit agenda in Thailand, Monday (19/5), with a series of important activities in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in various strategic fields. "In the context of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto to Thailand, he will carry out a series of important agendas in order to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand," said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana in a press statement received on Sunday. President Prabowo's visit agenda will begin on Monday (19/5) morning at around 09.30 local time by conducting an official audience with the King of Thailand, His Majesty Maha Vajiralongkorn, at the Amphorn Royal Palace, Bangkok. The meeting is a symbol of the close diplomatic relations between the two countries and the high respect from the Kingdom of Thailand for Indonesia. After meeting the King of Thailand, the President will continue his journey to Government House to attend an official welcoming ceremony led directly by the Prime Minister of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra. The welcoming ceremony will be held solemnly with the playing of the national anthems of both countries, inspection of the guard of honor, and an introduction session between the official delegations. "The official welcoming ceremony will begin with the playing of two national anthems from each country, then an inspection of the guard of honor, and then ended with an introduction of the two delegations from each country," said Yusuf. Furthermore, President Prabowo and PM Paetongtarn are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting between the Indonesian and Thai governments, which will discuss strengthening cooperation in various fields. During the meeting, President Prabowo will be accompanied by a number of ministers and high-ranking state officials. "The President will be accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and also the Cabinet Secretary, as well as the Indonesian Ambassador in Bangkok," added Yusuf. After the bilateral meeting, the next agenda is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which reflects the seriousness of both parties in expanding the partnership. President Prabowo's series of official visits will end with an official luncheon held at Government House. This visit is expected to further strengthen friendship and open up new opportunities for cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand in the future.
