MY BABY successfully encourages the community to be more vigilant
against the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) through the Indonesia
Mosquito Eradication Movement campaign. DHF is caused by the dengue virus and
transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Citing data from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Indonesia recorded
154,082 cases of DHF in the period from January 1 to week 27 in 2024. The
Director of Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases (P2PM) at the
Ministry of Health (MOH), Dr. Imran Pambudi, stated that this number is even
higher than the total cases of DHF in 2023. Out of all cases up to week 27, 916 of them resulted in death. In
addition, Bandung City is noted as the city with the highest number of DHF
cases nationally, reaching 5,489 cases. Furthermore, Tangerang Regency ranks
second with a total of 3,400 cases. Regarding cases of death due to DHF in the
past seven years, the age group of 5 to 14 years is the most vulnerable. Pediatric Specialist at UNS Hospital, Dr. Debby Andina Landiasari,
Sp.A, mentioned that the surrounding environment and weak immune system make
children vulnerable to DHF. "Because children's immune systems are not as strong as adults
and children tend to spend more time indoors. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which
carry the dengue virus, are often found indoors, especially in dark and humid
areas. For older children, they are usually at risk of contracting DHF while
playing at school or in the park. Aedes aegypti mosquitoes can fly up to 200
meters and bite children within that range," explained Debby. In order to
reduce the number of DHF cases, MY BABY, as a trusted brand for mothers for
almost 40 years, is taking action through MY BABY Momversity goes to Bandung
and Tangerang to carry out the Indonesia Mosquito Eradication Movement.
MY BABY is encouraging thousands of families to take action in
preventing dengue fever through education and the implementation of 3M Plus,
along with fogging and the distribution of MY BABY products and larvicide
powder. The application of 3M Plus includes: draining, which involves cleaning
places that are often used as water storage such as bathtubs, water buckets,
drinking water containers, refrigerator water containers, and others. Then,
sealing tightly water storage places such as drums, pitchers, water towers, and
so on. In addition, recycling used items that have the potential to become
mosquito breeding grounds. Besides 3M, Plus is by applying MY BABY Minyak Telon
Plus as an additional protection from mosquito bites. Winny Yunitawati,
