PGE Area Lahendong Wins Award At International CSR Excellence Awards 2024

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) in the Lahendong Area is committed to prioritizing social and environmental responsibility through various community empowerment and environmental protection programs. This commitment to social and environmental responsibility has received international recognition from the International CSR Excellence Awards 2024.

PGE Lahendong Area has successfully won the silver award for Waste Management category. PGE Lahendong Area is considered as one of the best international practices in environmental impact management.

Novi Purnomo, the General Manager of PGE Lahendong Area, explained that environmental and social responsibility is not just an obligation, but a core value embedded in daily operational activities. "This achievement further strengthens PGE's position as a world-class green energy company that has a positive impact on society and the environment in advancing the clean energy transition," said Novi, in a statement received by Kontan.co.id on Thursday (4/7).

The International CSR Excellence Awards 2024 is an international award event supported by The Green Organisation, an independent non-profit organization. This award is given to businesses that implement TJSL initiatives that make the best positive contributions to society and the environment.

One of the social innovation programs implemented by PGE Lahendong Area is MapalusTumompaso. This is a circular economic system program that empowers and educates over 1,400 local residents through several derivative programs, such as Village Tourism Business (Sadewi), Independent and Empowered Group Business Maria (Kubemada), Livestock Business with Renewable Energy, and Waste Bank Setor Jo.

JulfiHadi, the President Director of PGE, stated that this award is an international recognition of PGE's sustainable efforts in supporting the energy transition while prioritizing social, economic, and environmental aspects.
