PT JIEP Supports Improving Toddler Nutrition Through Initiation Programs

Saturday, 15 Feb 2025

PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (PT JIEP) is helping the government's program to develop human resources and improve public health.

This support is shown through the Social and Environmental Responsibility program, which includes a joint initiative to tackle and prevent nutrition issues in Jatinegara and Rawaterate.

PT JIEP is partnering with Puskesmas Cakung to implement this program over 50 days, from November 8, 2024, to January 17, 2025. The main goal is to enhance the nutrition of toddlers by providing additional food for those facing nutritional problems.

Medik Endra Wahyudi, Corporate Secretary & TJSL of PT JIEP, mentioned that this program reflects PT JIEP's support for the government's goals and its commitment to social responsibility.

“To support human resource development and health improvement, we will intervene daily with toddlers facing nutrition issues and monitor their health,” he stated in a written release on Friday (February 14).

The nutrition intervention includes providing additional food, formula milk, UHT milk, vitamins, and zinc supplements for toddlers with nutritional challenges.

During the intervention period, the health of toddlers will be monitored weekly through weight and height measurements at the Captasi Nutrition Post (Cakung Concerned About Nutrition Issues) at Puskesmas Cakung.

In addition to nutrition support, the program also offers education for mothers of toddlers through the “Mahir Masak Makanan Tepat untuk Balita” (Mama Hebat) initiative, supported by Puskesmas Cakung.

“To enhance human resource development, this effort is backed by increasing mothers' knowledge through cooking education for toddlers,” said Medik.

This outreach targets mothers of toddlers, pregnant women, and women of childbearing age. The educational material includes how to prepare healthy and balanced meals, addressing mouth-closing behavior in toddlers, and promoting clean and healthy living habits to support toddler development.

"During the intervention period, the health of toddlers with nutritional issues was continuously monitored, and thankfully, the results were satisfying with improvements in weight and height," added the medical professional.

PT JIEP expressed gratitude to the Cakung Community Health Center, Jatinegara Community Health Center, Rawaterate Community Health Center, PKK cadres, and all parties who supported this program.

"We hope this effort can contribute to human resource development and improve community health," concluded the medical professional.
