The Regional Leaders' Retreat Will Take Place From February 21 To February 28, 2025, At The Indonesian Military Academy In Magelang. This Document Outlines The Preparations And Key Topics To Be Addres

The agenda for the retreat or training session for elected regional heads in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) is scheduled to take place from February 21 to February 28, 2025, in Magelang, Central Java. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto, during a press release on Sunday, February 9, 2025. The retreat will occur following the inauguration of the first batch of regional heads, which is planned for February 20, 2025. "On February 21, the regional heads will participate in the training in Magelang," he stated. The retreat will be held at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, which is equipped with adequate facilities for such activities. 

Departure Simulation from Yogyakarta According to the plan, 505 regional heads, including governors, regents, and mayors, will first gather at the Presidential Palace in Yogyakarta. Prior to the event, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) will conduct a simulation of the departure from the Presidential Palace in Yogyakarta to the retreat location. "There are several options. One option is to convene in Yogyakarta, specifically at the Presidential Palace, which the Palace Chief has indicated is very feasible," Bima remarked. 

Coordination and Preparation by Kemendagri After the site review and simulation process are completed, Kemendagri, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Agency (BPSDM) and Lemhannas, will organize the series of events for the retreat. "We at Kemendagri, along with BPSDM, are responsible for planning the entire event in conjunction with Lemhannas. We are currently reviewing and surveying various location options," the former mayor of Bogor stated. This process is crucial to ensure the smooth execution of the event and the readiness of the regional heads to participate in the training. The Retreat Plan for Regional Heads was Announced by President Prabowo Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had also announced the plan for the retreat for the elected regional heads in the 2024 Pilkada.
